life-of-an-architecture-student:
To have a successful school year you need to discipline yourself and stay on track with your work. This is for those who tend to leave things to the last minute. I highly recommend you take this advice and really try this out. It really helped me so I’m sure it can help you guys!
Plan your day
Keeping a to-do list will help you accomplish more and keep you on track. It feels good to check them off as you go completing them! Schedule your daily/weekly activities, doing so keeps you organized and focused.
Arrange your tasks
Prioritizing tasks will confirm that you spend your time and energy on those that are truly important. Give yourself and order to follow.
Lear to say no to distractions
Consider your to-do list and schedule before making a decision of going out or doing other activities. Yes it’s hard to say no to friends or a good time. But know when it’s ok and when you really can’t afford distractions. You should block out time on your calendar for when big projects come up. Your priority should be your work. Semesters are usually three and a half months, come on you can do it.
Hard stuff first
Working on the hardest task is usually a better start. Once you’re finished you can set that aside and quickly finish off the rest of your to-do list.
Get plenty of sleep and eat a healthy diet
A healthy lifestyle can improve your focus and concentration, which will help improve your efficiency so that you can complete your work in less time. We tend to not sleep enough and forget to eat when doing our work. But really, it helps a lot when you eat regularly. Pick up an apple or banana, something healthy to munch on.
Take a break when needed
Too much stress can derail your attempts at getting organized. When you need a break, take one. Take a walk outside to clear your head. Sometimes the work can really get you in a foul mood and get you tensed. Take a breather.
